This story starts in 2008 in Granada, Spain where I learned to dye with plants and natural materials.
In 2012 I dyed some natural wool with madder and as a result I obtained these beautiful orange fiber.
From that time, these fibers were stocked and I never had the occasion to use them.
In 2013 I bought a knitting machine and made a course in "L'école de la maille de Paris" and I let it sleep. It was far too complicated to think about a good idea, the planning and adapted materials.
Finally this year I took the challenge and the result is a beautiful surprise!
I hope you like it!!

FR:

Thanks for everything Texere!

EN:
It is not common for me to talk about suppliers. I think that is part of the things that are worth to keep secret (is like ingredients to a good recipe), but this post is moved by emotion, because I have received today a sad news knowing that Texere yarns, a historical english yarn supplier, has closed. They were running from 1973 and doing a beautiful fiber work still in 2015.
This month I have bought my last batch of yarns and waiting anxiously to receive it... it's gonna be a very symbolic production using their yarns that are not going to be available anymore...
To pay tribute, I have reunited some of the creations I've made over these years and looking at my portfolio it is not just picking up pictures to make this post... it is also a sentimental journey to some beautiful moments represented by memories about that days... when I imagined the product, when I picked up the materials, when I kintted or crocheted them and when finally they went away to be part of the story of someone else...
Thanks Texere for this and you always will be in my heart.

FR:

This weekend I went to the expo Photoquai organized by the Quai Branly Museum of Paris, just in front of the museum and next to the Seine river.
This year the theme is "we are family" and they invite us to think about what means to be part of a family.
We can admire photographers from all around the world and it is very special for me because Cecilia Reynoso whom I know very well is being featured!
Cecilia has photographed her husband's family: a traditional Argentinian family, half Italian half Spanish (as usual in Argentina). But they are very singular and very photogenic! For me it was a real pleasure to see her exposed under the parisian sky because I know very well how passionate she is about her profession.

I also discover another photographers that surprised me a lot.

Autumn is officially here, but the sun is still shinning outside.
I live in an apartment in Paris and knitting outdoors is not as simple as it seems, sometimes I would love to live in the countryside to have the possibility to make some cool pics as these ones I share with you here.
I found some beautiful scenery pics of people who knit in Instagram.
Enjoy them and follow the knitters if you want!!

Tools for handmade little business IFTTT (if this then that)

EN:

I am one of those people that love creating things, knitting, crocheting and expressing myself via the arts & crafts.

When back in 2007 I started to selling on the internet, the world was slightly different and web 2.0 was a real promise. Everybody was very hopeful considering a quiet life but interacting with the real world and selling (of course, money is always important) in the internet.

Shops on Etsy were a lot more visible and Treasury was king. Today the panorama has changed and the net is more social than ever, but... putting your efforts in comunication is time consuming and sometimes it is impossible to have a free agenda to be everywhere. In the last weeks I have been testing and loving :) IFTTT (if this then that), it is a web based and also app that allow you to make "recipes" that help you deal with all that mess on the social media.
So, for exemple if you publish a photo on Instagram, you can plan to publish it at the same time on Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. You decide what to do and how to do it. If you have alrealdy some of this medias connected, breake that connection or you are going to have the information duplicated.

I found it really helpful and I feel I can reach new people in other medias like Instagram (yeah I know, it is the one you need to be in, but I thought about it as a personal life sharing media at the beggining)

And you? What tools do you use to gain time?

FR:

Cela fait quelques semaine que j'ai découvert IFTTT (if this then that).
